The speed of sound has been measured in 1-nonanol, 1-undecanol, and 1-dodecanol in the temperature range 303.15-333.15 K. It was observed that the speed of sound in all the primary alcohols increases smoothly with the number of carbon atoms. The ratio of heat capacities C(p)/C(v) calculated for these alcohols decreases with an increase in the carbon number.
