Its core activities include pollution monitoring, wastewater treatment, waste-to-wealth technologies, bioremediation, biodiversity assessment, and resource recovery. With strong expertise, advanced laboratories, pilot-scale facilities, and industry collaborations, the department has generated impactful patents, technologies, and publications while training skilled professionals. Its future vision aligns with Viksit Bharat, focusing on sustainable mining, environmental remediation, and eco-friendly technologies to support industry and society.
