Al 7075 alloy matrix composites reinforced with silicon carbide particulates (SiCp) were fabricated through liquid metallurgy stir casting process and then heat treated to T6 condition. Pattern of SiCp dispersion in the matrix was observed through optical microscopy of the aluminium matrix composites (AMCs). Influence of heat treatment, reinforcement percentage and their particle size on the density, porosity and microhardness was analyzed. Density and porosity increased with increase of reinforcement content. Microhardness of the AMCs increased with increase in wt.% of SiCp and with reduction of their particle size.
