Abstract:
The present study deals with investigating the effect of process variables like reductant concentrations, substrate concentration, reaction pH and reaction temperature on the synthesis of silver nanoparticles by using aqueous leaf extract of Cinnamomum tamala (Tejpata). The silver nanoparticles were characterized by the different characterization techniques like UV-Vis spectral analysis, XRD analysis, TEM analysis, Fluorescence analysis. By means of UV-Vis spectroscopy, it was observed that, the formation of nanoparticles were strongly dependent on process variables. Formation of crystalline nanoparticles was confirmed from XRD analysis. The silver nanoparticles which were formed at conc. 10(-3) M of AgNO3 of pH 5.3 with 10 ml of aqueous leaf extract at normal room temperature were more stable, polydisperse, predominantly spherical with average size of 25.12 nm. The stability of silver nanoparticles is due to the capping of phytoconstituents present in the leaf extract which was evident from TEM and FT-IR studies.
