Abstract:

A new tetracyclic triterpene 9,19-cyclolanost-22(22'), 24-diene-3beta-ol, named as nerifoliene (2) along with euphol (1) were isolated from the fresh latex of Euphorbia nerifolia. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectral (IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR, FAB and EI Mass) data.
