| dc.description.abstract |
Leaching of tungsten in the ore-dressing products of scheelite by various carboxylic acids revealed that oxalic acid leaches tungsten quantitatively. Powdered scheelite samples of -200 mesh size were decomposed with 4% oxalic acid at 100 degrees C with constant stirring for 1 h. Tungsten was determined by x-ray fluorescence spectrometry using liquid cups, The results obtained were in close agreement with those obtained by a spectrophotometric method. The procedure is applicable to the analysis of ore-dressing products containing 5-70% WO3 with a relative standard deviation of 0.3%. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. |
