dc.description.abstract About 80% of the total energy requirement in zinc production is consumed in the cell house. Increase in energy costs emphasises on searching for methods to reduce power consumption. Organic compounds other than glues or gums seems to be the probable alternatives. This paper reviews the work carried out in this area including the activities at Regional Research Laboratory, Bhubaneswar.
