dc.description.abstract Cleaning of the zinc rougher concentrate with flotation column indicated the possibility of producing a concentrate containing 53% Zn with 85% recovery while restricting the silica content to below 2% in single stage as compared to the concentrate assaying 47%-49% Zn with 80% recovery containing 5%-7% silica being produced currently at the Dariba concentrator, after three cleaning stages, in the conventional mechanical cells. The paper outlines the details of the studies carried out both on Denver mechanical cell and 50 mm diameter indigenous glass flotation column.
