The copper extraction and stripping studies were carried out using Hostarex DK-16 as an extractant. For extraction studies three parameters were studied such as pH, temperature and concentration of (NK4)(2)SO4 in the aqueous solution. Stripping studies were carried out using Cu-loaded organic at different temperature and acid concentration. The equilibrium constant decreased:vith increase of (NH4)(2)SO4 concentration which indicated the negative effect of (NH4)(2)SO4 concentration bn Cu extraction by the extractant. The theoretical copper concentration in the organic was calculated based on Freundlich adsorption model which matches well with the experimentally observed value. Cu extraction increased with increase of temperature. The extraction and stripping kinetics along with distribution isotherms were also found out. |
