dc.description.abstract During ultrafine grinding the particles tend to agglomerate or coat on the media and mill liners. The literature reveals that some of the grinding aids favour to disperse the particles and improve the grinding performance. This paper presents the experimental results on the use of different dispersing agents for dry grinding of dolomite filler. Among the additives used, PMMA ge PS polymers and few acetates enhanced the product fineness. However, the periodic addition of grinding additive, a case study with ester at a rate of 0.2% by weight to the feed has shown more beneficial effect in grinding performance. Studies with polymers are in progress.
