dc.description.abstract The paper presents investigations on the adsorption of lead on hydrated iron oxides prepared at different temperatures from solutions of iron(II) sulphate or chloride using alkalis such as sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate and calcium hydroxide followed by aerial oxidation, filration and drying. A comparative study has been made on the fresh and the aged samples of these Iron oxides. It is observed that almost all the samples are good adsorbents of lead but the one prepared from iron(II) chloride-sodium carbonate system is the best under the studied conditions.
