dc.description.abstract In the present work the effect of ammonium chloride on the vapour liquid equilibiium of the system 1,4 dioxane-water at atmospheric pressure of 760 +/- 1 mm Hg has been studied. It was observed that the ammonium chloride is helpful in shifting the azeotropic composition. Linear relationships are developed between the relative volatilities and salt concentrations.
