dc.description.abstract Mesoporous MnO2 (meso-MnO2) was incorporated into the extraframework of MCM-41 without pore blocking generates a high surface area meso-MnO2-MCM-41 nanocomposite. The incorporation of meso-MnO2 into the extra framework of MCM-41 through silanol group is evidenced from FTIR study. Among all the catalysts, meso-MnO2-MCM-41(10) showed the highest surface area, narrow pore diameter, and high pore volume. The photo degradation of meso-MnO2-MCM-41 samples were evaluated towards various cationic dyes such as rhodamine 6G (Rd 6G), methylene blue (MB), malachite green (MG) and rhodamine B (Rd B). The meso-MnO2-MCM-41(10) composite exhibited 100% photo degradation in 60 min. The electron transfer and (OH)-O-center dot radical generation increases the degradation properties.
