Pickle liquor, a waste from metallurgical industries and containing iron(II) sulphate in crude form, has been subjected to oxidation studies. Oxidation of aqueous iron from Fe(II) to Fe(III) in different alkali media has been investigated in the presence of a number of additives utilizing atmospheric air as oxidant. Optimum conditions for effective oxidation have been established. |
